Healing from burnout
6 things that helped me the most when healing from burnout:
1. Hiring a life coach🫂
This one alone made the biggest difference for me. Working with someone to help you build your capacity, address traumas, navigate triggers and emotions, and provide support through transitions is life changing and so needed! I cannot imagine not having a life coach anymore. I personally chose a trauma certified life coach who aligns with my values and beliefs ➡️ @coach.jenny.c the best coach ever❤️
2. Moving my body💃
I spent months in bed unable to do ANYTHING but once I decided to start moving e.g. dancing and going for walks (short walks 2-3x a day usually after meals) it helped my energy a lot. I felt like I was stuck for so long I just started to crave flow, movement and a kind of release. Whenever I feel tired, I know it’s time to go outside for a walk.
3. Replenishing my minerals💎
Working on my mineral intake has done wonders for my health. Without minerals, every process in the body will underperform. There’s no question about that. Minerals will forever be my ride or die because they are so so so important and I had to learn it the hard way.
4. Spending more time with people👭
This one was very counterintuitive to me. I had low energy and capacity and meeting people took energy and capacity so how can that make things better? For me, it was a sense of belonging, being a part of a community and feeling needed. Being with people, talking, playing games, and having fun. Yes, it was also tiring at first but much better than lying in bed in a dark room alone. It helped me mentally a lot which then affected my physical health as well.
5. Having a hobby🎨
I personally learned a new hobby and I loved every second of it. Doing something I enjoyed and with my hands that was outside of my work and screens was an amazing change for me. It helped me take my mind off things and I didn’t have to focus on my health for a while.
6. Sun exposure🌞
When I burned out, I lived in Norway. I didn’t realize how much it affected me living in a dark, cold, and just depressing environment. At the end of last year, I moved back to my home country in Central Europe and wow. I got reminded how much adequate sunlight exposure is important for our health.
